What to Expect?
Our dining guide gives you an idea of what type of cuisine to expect in Vail and where to go to get it. In Vail, you’ll find the following dining opportunities:
- Fine Dining: Sweet Basil
- Fast Food: McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Subway (one location on N Frontage Road and the other on Lionshead Circle)
- Chinese: China Garden and May Palace Restaurant
- Pizza: Bada Bing Gourmet Pizza (on Lion’s Ridge Loop #2) , Bada Bing Gourmet Pizza Co. (on North Frontage Road), Domino’s Pizza, Pazzo’s Pizzeria
- Local Cuisine: Dusty Boot Steakhouse & Saloon, Blue Moon Café, Kaltenberg Castle, and Alpen Rose.
- Bistro/Café: Gusto
- Pub/Bars: Bart & Yert’s, Garfinkels, Red Lion.
- On-Mountain Dining: During the winter season, you can enjoy a quick bite to eat at any one of these places: Belle’s Camp, Buffalo’s, Eagle’s Nest, The Golden Peak, Mid Vail, Two Elk, and Wildwood, Wok n’ Roll. If you want to have a sit-down dinner but still on-mountain, try any of these ones (many which make our top ten list as well): Blue Moon Restaurant & Bar, Cucina Rustica, Game Creek Restaurant, Larkspur, and the Wildflower.
Hint – For many of the restaurants in Vail, reservations are suggested. Also, if you’re going in the summer time, make sure that the restaurant is open. A few of the restaurants close shop during the summer months.
